Rival: Red Rock will go up against Fair City | RTE
Tv3 have started casting for their first ever TV soap, Red Rock.
The broadcaster have revealed top Casting Director Louise Kiely and her team will handle the auditions over the next week.
As well as extending Xpose to an hour long programme, the soap is another big change happening in Ballymount.

Open casting sessions will begin in Dublin on 9th and 10th August and regional casting sessions will follow in Cork, Limerick, Belfast and Galway.
According to TV3: “The Red Rock casting team are looking to represent the diversity of contemporary culture and ethnicities in Ireland as well as different age groups.”
They also stated that production of the series will begin this Autumn, and will begin airing in January.

The soap will go up against much loved RTE soap Fair City.
Casting Director Louise Kiely has a stellar reputation.
She handled the casting for What Richard Did – which brought Jack Reynor to fame, she also cast BBC series Quirke, RTE’s Damo and Ivor and BBC’s Ripper Street.
Speaking about the casting: “We are super excited to get started. There will be a ticket system at each of the venues, on a first come, first seen basis.”

“We can see 500 per day in Dublin and 300 per day in the other cities. In order to get seen, I would advise getting there early.”
“If we cannot see you on the day, we shall accept self-tapes in the coming months.”
“We would ask that people prepare a Film/TV monologue of a minute in length.”

Dublin castings will take place this Saturday and Sunday from 9am at The John Player factory.
