Boris Becker is set to star in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
According to The Sun, the former tennis ace is in it for the €500,000 pay day – as he’s said to be €60 million in debt.
A source close to Boris said, “As everyone now knows, Boris’s financial situation is desperate. He needs a way make a lot of money fast, and has looked to I’m Celebrity to help him exactly that.
“His representatives are negotiating with ITV, and they are aiming to get him over €500,000.”
“TV chiefs know would be a brilliant signing. But they also know is Boris is slightly over a barrel as a result of his dire financial situation.”
After nabbing three Wimbledon titles in the 1980s, Boris blew his on failed business ventures and a lavish lifestyle.
It’s reported that Boris, who was declared bankrupt in June, forked out millions to a Russian model that he got pregnant in a London restaurant’s broom cupboard – and his divorce from first wife Barbara cost him another €10 million.
“Even if Boris does collect half a million, it isn’t going to make a dent in his debts,” the source added. “But it is a step in the right direction and could lead to more lucrative opportunities — which he desperately needs.”
Meanwhile, ITV refused to comment on “speculation”.
