Tallafornia star Phil Penny is hoping to become a UK celebrity by appearing on Big Brother next summer.
The ex-TV3 star is understood to have held talks with Channel 5, who now screen the series, and is expected to be on the show.
It would see him following in the footsteps of Irish model Hazel O’Sullivan, who also appeared on the non-celebrity version of the series.

He is likely to have been championed by Channel 5 Head of Programming Ben Frow, who commissioned Tallafornia when he held the same role at TV3.
It could be used to help the 29-year-old’s new reality show, Infectious, which he has been filming along with Tallafornia alumni Nikita Murray.

Earlier this year, Phil said he “can’t find real love” because of Tallafornia and only ends up with “fake love”.
He added: “You get these girls that want to be with you because you were on the TV but they are only after the fame or whatever.
“The genuine girls are being put off too, because of what they perceive I may be like.”
