Suits creator Aaron Korsh has revealed the real reason why Meghan Markle didn’t return for the show’s final episode.
The producer has admitted that he thought about asking the Duchess of Sussex to reprise her role as Rachel Zane for the finale – but he chose not to in the end.
Speaking to Deadline, he said: “In the end I didn’t ask, and I just thought, I’m going to respect her new life and not put her in the position of having to ask.”
“We decided not to put her in that position so I never asked.”
Before she got engaged to Prince Harry in 2017, Meghan starred in seven seasons of Suits, after joining the show in 2011.
She last appeared on the show during the season seven finale, which saw her character marry Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams) and then subsequently leave for Seattle.
