Stormzy made an appearance on BBC Breakfast this morning – wearing his slippers.
The Grime artist claims he left his house without changing into a practical pair of trainers.
Explaining how he had been busy signing copies of his new album Heavy is The Head, Stormzy said he simply forgot to bring a change of shoes in the car with him.
“Those slippers are magnificent,” pointed out presenter Dan Walker.
“I forgot, I’m an idiot, I forgot,” replied the 26-year-old, real name Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr.
“I just always stay in my slippers and then I got in the car and I was like, ‘Ah. I haven’t got my trainers’,” he explained.
Social media has embraced the incident, with one fan quipping: “Heavy is the head, but comfy is the foot.”

All this chat about Stormzy wearing slippers, and no one has speculated that maybe it’s because he’s gotten way too big for his boots.
I mean, that’s such an obvious joke
