Simon Cowell has admitted he made a mistake getting rid of Irish X Factor singer Janet Grogan.
The Dubliner impressed the judges and the arena in the final stages of bootcamp, earning her a seat in Simon’s top six for his judges house.
But in a last minute twist, Simon swapped Janet for Robert Pattinson’s sister Lizzie.
However last night Simon took to Twitter to share his regret.
“I should have kept Janet. My mistake,” he said.
Axed: Janet was dropped from The X Factor | ITV
Janet is the third Irish act to have their X Factor dream crushed, as both Orla Keogh and Ben Quinlan were dropped over the weekend too.
Meanwhile Janet has revealed her disappointment in Simon Cowell.
“I felt like he only gave it to me because the other judges and the audience persuaded him to.
“When I sat down I said ‘I’m on borrowed time here’. But then when it came to swapping out, two people were swapped and I was still there.”

But two singers later Janet was swapped out.
“That was the really shocking thing for me because he saved me three times and then I thought I was safe but I got sent home the next second,” she told the Irish Mirror.
“That was the really heartbreaking thing for me – that split second when you think you have it and then it is gone.”
“It was devastating but I just tried to keep my dignity and leave with my head held high,” she admitted.
