Simon Cowell has administered in indirect compliment to Little Mix following rumours of a feud between the music boss and the girl band.
While commenting on V5’s performance on last night’s X Factor: Celebrity, Simon said: “I’ve had the privilege of working with Fifth Harmony and working with Little Mix…”
“And now working with you, and what all of you share is this absolute determination and professionalism and everything comes from you.”
Simon and Little Mix were rumoured to have bad blood after launching competing band-based talent shows for the year 2020.
Simon is eschewing the concept of an All Stars X Factor edition in favour of X-Factor: The Band (working title).
His decision came after Little Mix announced they would be hosting a new talent scouting show called The Search.
Simon claimed he was asked to co-produce Little Mix’s show, but turned down the opportunity.
He told The Sun: “This is what really happened. I was approached to co-produce that show last year by Little Mix’s management.”
“I told them the problem was we have a conflict of interest because we are launching X Factor The Band in 2020. We were told their show was going to launch in 2021.”
“Then we had the fallout and find out Little Mix were bringing their show forward. Was that intentional because we are doing our show? I have no idea.”
