RTE presenter, Brenda Donohue, has opened up about the representation of women in Irish broadcasting.
The radio host has worked with the station for over 25 years.
“It’s a struggle for people to accept female voices in an entertaining fashion on air – or else you’re ignored,” she said.

The mother-of-three admitted that it’s a harder for women to make a career in the entertainment industry.
“I think it’s much harder for a woman to make it,” Brenda told the Irish Mirror.

Brenda further admitted that there are a lot of strong ladies in TV, but it’s still a more difficult career path for women.
“You have a lot of strong current affairs women – Miriam O’Callaghan, Katie Hannon, Marian Finucane – there are powerhouses of women.
“But if you look at 2FM and other entertainment shows, it is harder for women.
“I don’t know how to get around it.”
