Riverdale stars reveal the new way they prepare for kissing scenes – amid the coronavirus pandemic

The show's stars have to follow new hygiene measures

Riverdale stars KJ Apa and Camila Mendes have revealed the new way they prepare for kissing scenes, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The castmates recently resumed filming the CW series in Canada, and have been adhering to new safety and hygiene measures on set.

Taking to Instagram, KJ told fans they have to gargle mouthwash for at least 30 seconds before every take of a kissing scene.

Posting a video of him and Camila gargling mouthwash before spitting it into a plastic bag, KJ wrote: “Our new normal is washing our mouths before every take of a make-out scene…”

Camila also reposted the video on her Instagram Story, and wrote, “Bottoms up!”

The cast of Riverdale will be filming season five in Canada over the next few months.

Earlier this month, Lili Reinhart admitted she felt like a “prisoner” returning to work on Riverdale.

During a candid interview with Nylon, the actress expressed her frustration over filming in Canada amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Lili said: “I genuinely feel like a prisoner, going back to work, because I cannot leave Canada. That doesn’t feel good.”

“You can’t go home for Thanksgiving, can’t visit your family. No one can come visit you unless they quarantine for two weeks. It just feels f**ked.”

On this week’s episode of Goss Chats, Goss.ie CEO Ali Ryan chats with award-winning makeup artist and MRS Glam creator, Michelle Regazolli Stone.

The celebrity MUA opens up about the ups and downs of living through the pandemic, and how her makeup range saved her.

#GossChats is sponsored by top Irish aesthetic clinic Haus of JeJuve.
