Pretty Little Liars reboot ‘in the works’ from Riverdale creator

Pretty Little Liars is said to be getting a reboot from the creator of Riverdale.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is ready to revive the hit series, which wrapped up after seven seasons back in 2017.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the new PLL will feature a new story and new characters, with Aguirre-Sacasa set to write the script.

HBO Max is reportedly the target destination for the series, which saw Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Troian Bellisario, and Sasha Pieterse rise to fame.

Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo will exec produce the drama alongside Aguirre-Sacasa.

The original series ran for seven seasons from 2010 to 2016, following the lives of a group of teenage girls who’s secrets begin to unravel.

Freeform tried to launch two spin-offs from the franchise — Pretty Little Liars: Ravenswood (2014) and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists (2019), each lasting just a single season.
