Pat Kenny is making his TV return – and he's not ruling out RTE

Broadcaster Pat Kenny has revealed he is planning a return to TV.

The former Late Late Show host has admitted that he would make a comeback in RTE.

Despite leaving the station last year after signing a lucrative deal with Newstalk, Pat says he’s open to going back.

“I’m looking around now and if the right show comes up, I will do it,” he said.

“I said, I’d spend a year building up my radio show when I joined Newstalk, and that year is
up this September,” he told the Irish Sun.

There have been rumours that Pat would join brand new Irish station UTV Ireland, as well as talk that TV3 have been looking to recruit him for a political talk show like The Frontline.

But Pat says he hasn’t talked to either channel.

“I have had no discussions with either TV3 or UTV Ireland.”

New role: Pat moved to Newstalk last year

“In fact at the time I left RTE both myself and (director general) Noel Curran said the door had not been shut on my working with RTE TV.”

Pat, 65, who worked in RTE for over four decades, said if he returns he will be taking it easy.

“I’m not going back to 40 weeks of TV a year. That’s a killer.”
