Oh no! Louis Walsh won't quit TV for another decade

Louis Walsh has revealed that he expects to stay around on television for another decade.

The Mayo man admitted it is “looking good” for him to be signed up for an 11th season of the X Factor after Simon Cowell begged him to come back.

But the 60-year-old insisted that he will be done for good on the box in 10 years time – so that he has time to travel the world before he dies.

Asked where he’ll be in 10 years, Louis insisted: “I won’t be on TV at all. I want to see the world.

“I just want to ease off, I only want to do a few things that I believe in. Life is short.

“I’ll just manage one or two acts that I believe in. if I could find someone I believe in the morning I’d take them on.

“They have to be good, I want to enjoy it more. It can feel like a job.”

Returning?: Louis expects Cheryl back on the panel

The ex-Westlife boss admitted that he is still in the dark about who is going to be joining him on the X Factor panel this year.

But Louis admitted he expected to see the return of Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole after intense negotiations between her and Cowell.

He said: “All I know about X Factor this year is that Simon’s definitely back. If I was a better man, I’d put money on Cheryl Cole.

“He absolutely wants her back. He always got on with her very well. They’re like a double act, they’re definitely England’s Sonny and Cher.”

Now Louis is getting ready to unveil his newest boyband – but admits he is still looking for a new Stephen Gately or an Irish Justin Bieber.

He added: “Stephen was an amazing kid. What I saw in those early Boyzone shows, I saw girls going mad.

“He had the original X Factor. You know what we say about people lighting up the stage? He used to light up the stage.

“The girls just adored him – and there’s probably somebody out there like him. I would love to find a new young Stephen, a young Justin Bieber, an Irish one.”

Speaking to Woman’s Way, Louis added that he is extremely sick of a lot of Irish celebrities who think they are God’s gift on earth after a small break.

He said: “I know what people are like and I’ve seen them lose the plot. They start to believe their own publicity.

“All these people in Dublin, they get a break, they get a TV show, they get a record deal, they all lose the plot.”

He added: “There’s too much celebrity – sellebrity – now. The less we know about some of those people the better.

“I can tell you about two very famous people and you’ve never seen them being interviewed, ever.

“They are Kate Moss and Sean Connery and they’re proper famous. They give less and we think more of them.”
