The show is seriously freaking out viewers

Netflix’s new stalker series YOU is seriously freaking out viewers, as many are considering deleting their social media accounts after watching it.

The gripping drama was released on the streaming platform on December 26, and users have been binging on it ever since.

The series follows Joe Goldberg, played by Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley – a stalker who uses social media to manipulate student Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) into falling in love him.

The show is based on Caroline Kepnes’ bestselling novel, and has already been renewed for a second season.

After binge-watching the series on Netflix, many have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts about the show – and it looks like it has seriously turned people off social media.

One viewer wrote: “B***h is anyone watching #YOU on netflix wtfffffff put ur s**t on private delete ur social media lock your doors.” [sic]

Another tweeted: “Thanks to #You I changed all my social media settings! & I’m not accepting anyone I don’t recognize,” and, “Omg watching #YouOnNetflix its making me want to close all my social media.”
