Netflix fans have labelled Black Doves as “The Die Hard of Christmas series.”
Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw appear in the new eight-part Netflix series.
The series debuted last Thursday and received a pristine 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes just one day after its premiere.

The show has been dubbed a “Christmas series” by thrilled viewers, who said the festive soundtrack and atmosphere gave them the “Christmas feels” despite the fact that it has spies, murders, and assassins.
The thriller, set in London in December before the big day, centres on Keira’s character Helen Webb.
Helen who works as an agent who shares information she has discovered from her politician husband (Andrew Buchan) with the Black Doves organisation.

Since the assassination of the mother-of-two’s covert lover Jason (Andrew Koji), Helen has been providing political intelligence to the firm, which is led by the mysterious Reed (Sarah Lancashire), for ten years.
The Christmas music playing in the background and the time of the drama, however, made fans label the series a holiday series despite all the fighting and death.

One person wrote on X: “Black Doves is a Christmas movie, a six hour Christmas movie.”
While another said: “Black Doves gave me all the Christmas feels I need this year!”
A third wrote: “Black Doves is a Christmas streaming series in the same way Die Hard is a Christmas movie.”
A fourth added: “Did not expect Black Doves to be the perfect Christmas viewing. Ben Whishaw walks away with the best-written character on the small screen this year. So much fun.”
