Nathan Carter has admitted that his nan was probably one of Joe Dolan’s fans who threw their knickers at him.
The late singer passed away in December 2007 but left a legacy behind him with multiple hits and performed all over the world.
“My nan was a huge fan, she was probably one of the ladies throwing their knickers at him,” he said.

Nathan performed on the Late Late Show in a special duet with a video of a live performance from Joe and said after he sang that it was surreal because he had grown up with the Mullingar man’s music.
“It was very surreal. I never met Joe but my nan was a huge fan when I was growing up,” the country music star told Ryan Tubridy.
“Joe used to come and play in Liverpool when I would have been three or four years old. We would have had Joe’s records and cassette tapes in the house when I was growing up.”
Honoured: The country music star was asked to sing on an album of Joe’s song re-recorded | VIPIRELAND.COM
Nathan revealed that he was honoured to have been asked to sing on an album of Joe’s, Orchestrated, Vol.1 – a greatest hits album re-recorded with the RTE Concert Orchastra.
“I knew a lot of the songs. I got a call to sing on the album, it was a huge privilege and i was honoured to be asked.
“His vocal range is extraordinary, he can sing so high,” he added.
“I’m a pretty high singer but I had to get lower down to try hit the notes because he had a great voice.”
