Molly-Mae Hague opens up about Tommy Fury’s problem with alcohol in emotional tell-all documentary

Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about Tommy Fury’s problem with alcohol in an emotional tell-all documentary.

The first three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind It All launched on Friday, January 17th, and the remaining three episodes will drop in Spring 2025.

The series, produced by the same team behind the Netflix series At Home With the Furys, has been described as an “all-access” look at Molly “nobody has seen before”.

In the first episode, Molly candidly opened up about her relationship with Tommy and how his drinking led to their split.

The couple, who met on Love Island in 2019, got engaged in 2023 and share a daughter named Bambi, who is almost two.

The pair had planned to wed in 2025, but in August, Molly-Mae shocked fans when she announced their split in a cryptic statement after five years together.

Tommy was later accused of cheating on the Maebe founder, which he has firmly denied.

Speaking to her mum, Molly spoke about how drinking had been affecting her and Tommy’s relationship for a long time.

“There were exterior issues going on for him, that was causing our relationship to have problems.”

When asked by her mother Debbie what she means by issues specifically, Molly bluntly replied: “Well, drinking, it’s drinking, isn’t it.”

Molly continued: “I never, ever wanted to be with someone that drank because my mum had a period of time in her life where she struggled because her marriage of 25 years had just ended.”

“I have never, ever been around [alcohol] in a positive light.”

Molly stated: “He wanted family life but then also have the life of a 25-year-old boy, with no responsibilities, and the two don’t go hand in hand.”

Molly’s mum replied: “It’s heartbreaking how alcohol has really messed things up; it’s been so detrimental and destructive.”

“He’s never had an alcohol problem; it’s just that alcohol caused problems for us.”

“It got to a point where I wasn’t really looking forward to anything because alcohol affected it so much.”

“I could only see a couple of examples where he’s had some alcohol, and it’s not led to anything disastrous.”

“I mean I don’t think I know any. I really don’t. At my sister’s wedding, I literally pleaded with Tommy, as I begged him not to drink,” Molly emotionally confessed.

“I just know that isn’t who he wants to be, and I genuinely do believe that isn’t who he wants to be, he doesn’t want to be that person, he doesn’t want this.”

Cameras have been following Molly for months, documenting life at home with her daughter Bambi, as well as the launch of her first clothing brand, Maebe.

The series is also set to feature the fallout of her shock split from Tommy Fury.

According to The Sun, Molly-Mae will address their reunion in future docu-series episodes.

A source told the publication: “The timing of them getting back together couldn’t be more convenient, as it will see their romance come full circle with fans watching on through the documentary.”

“There was already huge interest in the programme, even before the events of the past week. But now there’s likely to be even more people watching.”

The insider continued: “The trailer seemed to suggest there will be lots of detail about the stress Molly went through during their high-profile break up, but there was no hint of them getting back together.”

“Which means the creators of the documentary – which is still being filmed – were either taken by surprise by the reunion or have had to keep it top secret for some time.”

Earlier this week, Tommy Fury opened up about alcohol being the real reason behind their split in a candid interview with Men’s Health UK.

The 25-year-old vehemently denied the cheating allegations and revealed that their split was related to his battle with alcohol.

“There’s been so much shit in the papers every single day for the past six months: ‘Cheater, cheater, cheater; he slept with me; he slept with this girl.’”

“Complete and utter bollocks. And you can ask Molly herself,” he stated.

“The reason why me and Molly broke up was because I got addicted to alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore,” he continued.

“It kills me to say it, [but] it’s true, I couldn’t. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink, and it is what it is. People go through different things in life and we all have our crosses to bear. I’ve got mine to bear.”

Towards the end of the interview, Tommy hinted at reconciliation with Molly-Mae as he said: “This year it’s about being thoughtful, it’s about being kind, being the right partner and being a good partner.”
