The actor also said fans have been slightly ignorant when they talk about his travelling background.

“I’m getting that everywhere I go now,” he said.

“It’s people being ignorant without knowing they’re doing it. Saying things like ‘those people’ and ‘you’re not like those people’

“As if I’m any different from the rest of the travelling community or I’m the special one, or I’m the good one out of a bad bunch. ”

“They think it’s okay to say those types of things and it’s not,” he admitted.

“I went to a UB40 gig and I didn’t know what I was getting myself into to be honest.” John told Goss.ie

“When I think about it now I was pretty naive. I walked down the side of the Olympia and the fella who took my ticket just looked at me and said ‘you should have worn a hat.’ ”

“There were about 400 people between me and the door, which was only about 20 feet, it took me over an hour to get there.”

“I thought it ended and then I got inside and they had to put me in the VIP area, they put me in there because they thought it would be quieter, and then I ended up taking a selfie with everyone in  the VIP area.”
