Love/Hate is relocating to Spain for filming – as Nidge is forced to flee Ireland

Love/Hate will be moving to Spain next week – as Nidge is forced to flee the country in the show.

The RTE series will finish filming all its Irish scenes this week, with the last those that show Tom Vaughan Lawlor’s character cowering in the Costa del Sol.

Insiders have revealed that a small film crew will go across to Spain with the act to shoot a number of Spanish scenes, expected for towards the end of the next series.

“A skeleton film crew will head to Spain next week, possibly Costa del Sol, to shoot scenes with Nidge sitting by a pool in a villa,” a source told the Star.

“Nidge has got increasingly paranoid about being taken out by his enemies, especially after he finds out there’s a price on his head and a hitman is trying to target him.

“So he heads to Spain on his own using a false passport to get out of the country until all the heat dies down.

“We’ll probably see him sipping on a poolside cocktail while he’s on the phone to the gang back home.”

It comes as Love/Hate’s producers have tried to mirror real life – picking Spain as his hide out base based on other Irish criminals including Christy Kinahan choosing it themselves.
