Love Island: Michael Griffiths reacts to Amber and Greg’s win

Last night, Amber Gill and Irish rugby player Greg O’Shea took home the crown as the winners of Love Island 2019.

The couple won the show by public vote, and Amber’s ex-Love Island beau Michael Griffiths reacted to the reveal on social media.

While attending a live viewing party at Boxpark Wembley, Michael uploaded a video displaying his shock: “Oh sh*t, oh sh*t, I did not expect that,” he said.

The firefighter expressed that he assumed there would be a different winner of the show.

Later, appearing on today’s episode of Lorraine, Michael said: “Do you know what, I’m actually so happy for them, like just to see the excitement on Amber’s face.”

“I was actually so happy for her, just to see that smile on her face. It was unbelievable, I’m so happy for her. They did not expect it, Amber’s been on such a journey, it’s great.”

“She did deserve that, she’s been on such an amazing journey and Greg’s such a lovely guy, a genuinely lovely guy.”

Amber and Michael had a tumultuous relationship in the villa. The couple started off strong, before Casa Amor shook things up big time.

Michael dumped Amber in favour of Joanna Chimonides during the head-turning challenge.

Amber was crushed, but was soon smiling again when Greg was introduced to the villa less than two weeks ago.

“I don’t know how we’ve done it. It’s wild. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotion. Absolutely mad,” Amber said last night.

“I had that period of time that was just awful and I thought it was over then. Then he came in.”
