Love Island finalists ‘in 24-hour lockdown’ as bosses prepare them for the outside world

Show bosses are being extra cautious this year

This year’s Love Island finalists are currently in lockdown at a secret location in Mallorca, as show bosses prepare them for re-entering the outside world.

According to The Sun, the eight finalists will undergo an intense day of training – which will include one-on-one sessions with a financial adviser, and social media training.

Love Island bosses chose to implement the compulsory training day, after they came under fire for their aftercare processes earlier this year – following the deaths of two former Islanders.

A source said: “Bosses are leaving no stone unturned this year. Whereas the first day of freedom after the villa was historically a free-for-all, they are now making everyone stay put and have a ‘down day’ with bespoke sessions.”

“There was a feeling they let them loose too soon and with not enough advice so they’re just changing it entirely this year.”

“It’s a day of adjusting back to civilian life. Their lives aren’t going to be the same again so experts will be on hand for any questions or worries they have,” they added.

This year’s Islanders will also have access to therapy sessions back in the UK, and bosses have reportedly promised 14 months of “proactive contact” so they have continued support once they return to regular life.
