Beloved Love Is Blind couple Matt Bolton and Colleen Reed have left fans in a state shock after they have announced their divorce.
On Friday, the pair who fell in love on season 3 of the Netflix dating show, revealed the news in a joint Instagram post.
They began: “We wanted to share something personal, and this is not easy to do, but after nearly four years together, we’ve decided to end our marriage and move forward on our own paths.”
“We’ve been separated for some time now and have being our best to work through everything privately and with care.”
“This was an incredibly difficult decision, not one we made lightly. It came with a lot of thought and it’s been an emotional process for both of us.”
“We met in the most unique and unexpected way, and we’ll always be grateful for the love and memories we’ve shared. There’s not one thing we would change and we continue to have deep respect and care for one another.”
Calling out to their fans, they then said, “Thank you to everyone who has supported us. We kindly ask for compassion as we navigate this transition.”
Matt and Colleen were one of just two couples to reach the stage of marriage on their season of Love Is Blind.
Audiences worldwide watched as the pair navigated ups and downs, most notably when Colleen admitted to telling fellow contestant Cole Barnett she would be attracted to him “in the real world.”
Despite eventually solidifying their relationship with a wedding, Matt and Colleen lived separately for two years after the show.
In May 2023 Colleen revealed plans to finally move in with her husband.
Speaking on Deepti Vempati and Natalie Lee’s Out of the Pods podcast, she confirmed they were ready to take the big step.
Colleen said: “Me and Matt are going to move in together in the next two weeks. We don’t have the finances to buy, by any means, but we’re going to rent in Dallas and then that gives us time to really find the perfect home for what works for us.”
On their decision to wait, she added: “We practically live together already. He basically stays at my place because it’s closer to work.”
“I don’t think he’s gone to his place once in the past month. So I’m excited to live with him outside of a studio.”
“I mean, if I can live with this man in a studio, then I can live with him wherever because I can’t get away from him in these four walls,” she said jokingly.
