Louis Walsh faces being axed from the X Factor panel – in order to bring on Tinie Tempah.
The Mayo manager admits he is yet to formally be asked back to the show, which would be his 11th year on the X Factor.
Now sources have revealed that Cheryl Cole and ITV bosses prefer Tinie, 25, because of his credibility and the fact he is 35 years younger than Louis.

An insider told the Star: “Tinie has been approached about replacing Louis as a judge.
“It’s no secret Louis is a firm favourite with Simon but Cheryl and ITV bigwigs think Tinie would give the show more credibility.
“Tinie is current, credible and an international star. He also has a good relationship with X Factor after previously appearing as a helper at the judges’ houses stage.”

However Louis – who is best friends with Simon Cowell – has claimed he isn’t worried about being axed and admits he won’t be doing it for the money.
He said: “I’m not worried at all to tell you the truth. If Simon asks me to definitely do it, and they send me a contract, then of course I will.
“I’ll do it because of my friendship with him and for the craic. I’m not after it for the money and I’m not losing any sleep over it. It doesn’t keep me awake at night or anything.”
