Louis Walsh fears he'll be axed from X Factor next year for new young blood

Louis Walsh fears he will be ditched from the X Factor next year – as Simon Cowell wants young new blood on the panel.

The X Factor judge hopes he will be by his long-time friend’s side for his 12th and 13th season on the series.

However the 62-year-old knows that there are a lot of other people who would just love to steal his seat from under him.

“Simon has signed up to do two more shows, and while I’d love to do them, hand on heart, I really don’t know if I’ll be there or not,” he said.

“There’s no reason why I wouldn’t do it, but I’ve been there for 11 years and Simon might want new people. And there’s all these other people who would love to do it.”

But Louis insisted that people on the X Factor hasn’t “changed” him as as – as he still has a “normal life”.

“It hasn’t changed me as a person at all. It’s just a job at the end of the day, and I’m happy to be doing it,” he told the Sunday World.

“I still live in Dublin and I’m still very normal. Well, as normal as I always was, whatever that is. But I live a normal life. I’m low maintenance and I always was.”

However Louis knows that the ITV show has utterly changed his life.

He said: “Getting the job on the X Factor was the best thing that ever happened to me. And working with Simon has been great.”
