Killian Scott regrets signing up to Love/Hate – as too many people now recognise him

Love/Hate star Killian Scott has admitted he regrets taking on the role of Tommy as it has lost him his anonymity.

The Dubliner said he finds it tough becoming one of Ireland’s most recognisable faces and can’t deal with the fame that the gangland series gives him.

The 29-year-old admits he even moved to get away from being accosted on the street by fans of the RTE series.

Asked if he finds fame tough, Killian said: “Yeah, it’s why I live in London. So I don’t have to deal with it.”

But Killian – whose character is currently on a life-support machine in the show – was left freaked out when recognised while on holiday in Colombia.

He said: “I was just in Colombia for a few months. Literally, the first day I walked into a hostel and some guy shouted, ‘Tommy, how’s that fizzy orange working out for you?’.

“I was like, ‘Ok I have to leave Colombia!’ That was very strange. A lot of people are cool and I get that people like the stuff and that’s what goes with it.

“But I like my anonymity. Sometimes I have moments where I think, ‘What have I done?’ because you lose that.”

And Killian admits he isn’t to worried about watching the new season of Love/Hate, which was seen by nearly a million people last night.

He added: “You’re always a bit nervous or apprehensive with something like Love/Hate and the level of attention it gets.

“Stuart [Carolan] is an excellent writer, David’s an great director, it’s a fantastic cast. We all enjoy what we do and think it’s going to work and if people like that’s great, if not fair enough.

“I’ll catch it when I can. I met Tom this morning, he’s excited and nervous. They’re like an extension of my family. I’m excited to see how it turned out. I’m always mildly terrified in these situations.”
