Jennifer Maguire to go all serious – as she becomes documentary maker

TV star Jennifer Maguire is leaving her comedy antics behind – to become a documentary maker.

The Republic of Telly presenter has been lined up to make a programme about people living on social welfare around the country.

It is understood that the 34-year-old’s show will be part of RTE’s Reality Bites series.

2FM breakfast show host Jennifer pitched the show to Montrose bosses earlier this year and will be working with stylist Darren Kennedy for the project.

“It’s a serious documentary, dealing with and talking about a serious issue,” a source told the Herald.

“It’s been a real eye opener for everyone involved and it has really given Jennifer the chance to do something a little different – expand her anchoring horizons and see where it takes her.

“She and Darren drafted it themselves and the cameras follow them out on the streets chatting to people who have been on the dole for years.”

Her show will air in Autumn as part of RTE’s upcoming new schedule line-up.
