Jamie Dornan’s dad is set to star alongside his son in The Fall.
The actor lost his mother at just 16 years old but it was his father Jim Dornan that urged him to do something with his life.
“It was the writer and producer Allan Cubitt’s idea,” he said.

A retired obstetrician, the 68-year-old didn’t tell Jamie about his role as a Policing Board member John Porte on the BBC show.
“I met [Allan] socially and he asked me to take part in The Fall. He really wanted me to do it for Jamie,” he told the Belfast Telegraph.
“Jamie had finished filming and he had no idea I was going to be in it. It came as a real surprise to him when he found out.
“I certainly would have considered acting as a career if medicine hadn’t worked out.”
The Fall continues on the BBC 2 Thursday at 9pm.
