ITV have officially announced that Love Island will return this summer.
Despite ongoing concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic, the news was confirmed at a press briefing this morning.
TV critic and broadcaster Scott Bryan shared the news on Twitter, writing: “ITV has confirmed that a new series of Love Island will air later this year. No details yet n exactly when, or where it will be.”

Last year’s summer series was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, leaving fans devastated.
Last month, host Laura Whitmore teased the return of the dating show, sharing a clip of her strutting in the infamous villa to Instagram.
The Bray native wrote: “I think we could all do with some Love this summer… ❤️”
Laura will appear on The Late Late Show this Friday, with Ryan Tubridy promising to ask her “what’s happening” with Love Island this summer.
