Ireland AM's Sinead Desmond wants to reveal the behind-the-scenes sex and lust of breakfast TV

Ireland AM presenter Sinead Desmond has told of her urge to write a “kiss-and-tell” – set behind the scenes of a breakfast show.

The TV3 star admits she wants to go back to her writing days – and put pen to paper and write a book now.

But Sinead feels she should probably wait “for a few people to die” before using her first-hand knowledge to tell all.

And she said: “I could write a kiss-and-tell book about what goes on behind the scenes on a breakfast show. But I might have to wait for a few people to die first.”

Before starting on Ireland AM, she was a journalist on Fleet Street in London – and feels writing a book would get back to that stage of her life.

She said: “Writing has always been my passion. I would love to write a book – I’d probably take a stab at fiction.

However Sinead feels that her dream job Ireland AM – which celebrated its 15th anniversary last week – is close enough to what she used to do.

“It’s as close to print journalism as I can get,” she told the Herald. “I get bored easily and I’ve yet to get bored in there.”

Meanwhile Sinead admitted that interviewing underwear model David Gandy was one of her toughest interviews ever.

She said: “I completely fell for him. I’ve never seen anyone have that effect on women.”
