I’m A Celebrity bosses address controversy surrounding first eviction

There was a problem with the voting app last night

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! bosses have addressed the controversy surrounding this year’s first eviction.

Last night, viewers were left fuming when they discovered a problem with the voting app.

Hosts Ant and Dec had told viewers to call each contestant’s unique number in order to save the campmate, but on the app it only gave viewers the option to ‘vote off’ celebrities.

Then before the end of the show, the duo told viewers that only phone votes would be counted due to a wording error on the app – and people weren’t happy about it.

An ITV spokesperson has since told Metro.co.uk, “The app was never broken, it was a wording error on the app. So everything will be fine for the next vote off.”

Following the voting drama, Adele Roberts ended up being the first celebrity to leave the I’m A Celeb jungle.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs tonight at Virgin Media One from 9.10pm.
