RTE could be set to totally axe Grainne Seoige from screens when her contract comes up for renewal.
The Galway star used to present five different shows on the State station in 2011 and 2012 – but now has Crimecall as her only regular slot.
However that could be set to change when RTE One channel controller George Dixon departs the station this week.
Now his replacement will decide on the 40-year-old’s future employment opportunities – a long way from when she was dubbed RTE Grainne.

A source told the Irish Sun: “Grainne will be hoping the new controller is a fan. All her shows are with RTE One now.
“She has all her eggs in the one basket and this appointment will be key.Rival Kathryn Thomas is seen as having stolen a march on Grainne over the past two years.
“The problem is RTE have a dozen other presenters who can do the same job. This is a fickle job and tastes change as do the bosses. You need someone in charge who’s a fan.”

It is understood that RTE bosses especially like Kathryn Thomas, 35, who now presents The Voice – the replacement to the All Ireland Talent Show which was hosted by Grainne.
However an RTE spokeswoman said: “RTE do not comment on the contractual arrangements with any individuals.”
