Hometown’s Dayl Cronin tipped to win Dancing With The Stars

While Denise McCormack was first tipped for the Dancing With The Stars crown, it looks like Dayl Cronin is the most likely winner after the series premiered last night on RTÉ One.

Hometown’s Dayl Cronin stood out from the rest, topping the scoreboard with his modern Charleston to Calvin Harris’ My Way and is the new favourite to win after his odds were slashed from 4/1 to 6/4.

Previous early favourite Love/Hate actress Denise McCormack may have lost out on the top spot in the betting, but has in fact shortened to win also.

After a sneak peek at the ladies talents during the group dance, Denise was cut to 5/2 from 7/2, however she is now the second favourite to win after Dayl overtook her in the betting.

Des Bishop, who scored 18 out of 30 for his Tango, is next at 9/2, alongside Thalia Heffernan, with Kerry footballer Aidan O’Mahony shortening to 7/1 from 8/1 after an impressive salsa.

Aoife Heffron, PR Executive for BoyleSports commented, “Dayl Cronin was the standout star from RTE’s Dancing With The Stars launch night and was quickly made the new red hot 6/4 favourite to win following a flood of support.”

“Des Cahill is clearly backing himself to win, cheekily holding a paper with the headline ‘Dancing Dessie Bookies Darkhorse’, unfortunately it couldn’t be further from the truth in the outright betting, as he is in fact a firm outsider at 33/1.”
