Hilary Duff has confirmed that a Lizzie McGuire reboot is in the works – 15 years after the original series came to an end.
The new series, which will stream exclusively on Disney+, was announced at Disney’s D23 Expo on Friday.
Hilary will once again play Lizzie, who is now a 30-year-old millennial navigating life in New York City.
Like the original series, it will include the familiar animated version of Lizzie, who delivers hilarious commentary on what Lizzie is really thinking.
Confirming the news on Instagram, Hilary shared a video featuring old clips from Lizzie McGuire, and wrote: “SURPRISE!!! I’ve been trying to contain this excitement for a loooong time while this has been in the works!”
“I am beyond excited to be home again, back with my girl ♥️…and into her 30’s.”
