RTE reportedly don’t have a date for Gay Byrne to return to work in 2017 as he is too ill.
The former Late Late Show host announced near the end of 2016 that he was battling cancer and had to take time off from his radio show to recover.
The RTE star is said to be feeling unwell but is confident about his treatment.

“We don’t have a date for Gay returning in 2017,” a source told the Irish Sun.
“We are all thinking about him and wishing him the very best with his recovery.”
Gay is out of hospital and resting at home in Dublin with his wife Kathleen Watkins.
