Una Foden is set to sign on the dotted line and become the newest coach on The Voice of Ireland.
Goss.ie can reveal that The Saturdays singer has agreed to join the RTE series – and is finishing contract negotiations.
The Voice: Only two of last year’s panel have stayed with show
Insiders told Goss.ie that Una, 32, will be a massive asset to the show – especially given she is still a current artist in the charts.
A source said: “Having Una will be massive for the show – she’s a face and name that everyone knows and she truly does know all about the music industry.
“She’s young, which is needed on the panel after Jamelia left – and you will have a lot of younger women that truly look up to her. It’s also a new adventure for her, which excites Una.”
Hiatus: Una is joining show as band take break
It is understood Una agreed to do the show because The Saturdays are currently on hiatus, giving the five time to work on solo projects.
The Tipperary musician will now be back in Ireland next week when auditions start in the Helix in Dublin with Bressie and Kian Egan.
Bosses are expected to unveil Una in the coming week – along with one more coach who they have signed up after Delores also quit.
They did look into signing the Pussycat Dolls’ Ashley Roberts, but she was too expensive.
Previously Una has worked with RTE on kids TV show Una’s Dream Factory, which is soon back for a second season.
