Love/Hate star Johnny Ward has revealed he was given the permission of Charlie Murphy’s boyfriend for their sex scenes.
The Dublin actor – who plays Paulie – was seen snogging her character Siobhan in the RTE gangland series last night.
But Johnny, 27, who has come onto the show to look after Nidge for a Spanish drugs kingpin, told Goss.ie knowing Charlie’s boyfriend Ciaran O’Brien took away any awkwardness.

He added: “I knew Charlie beforehand which helped, so there was no awkwardness at all.
“Charlie’s so nice and easy to work with and I know Charlie’s boyfriend from films I did as a kid so that obviously helped as well.”
And Johnny said we can expected even more X-rated scenes with Charlie – as her boyfriend in the show, Tommy, aka Killian Scott lies comatosed in hospital.
It was hinted they ended up having sex after Paulie left his meeting with Nidge, telling him he was “off to f**k a young one”.

He said: “I think you can see just from episode one that my character is a bit of a bad boy. I don’t think there has been a character that had stepped into Love/Hate that is annoying Nidge and has survived.
“You can see that there is a bit of chemistry between himself and Siobhan, he obviously fancies her, so you’ll see that develop as it goes along.”
He added: “If I got wiped out, of course I’d be devastated, It’s just a dream role to be given.”
Meanwhile, RTE has revealed 852,000 viewers tuned into their snog last night – up 2% on last year.
