Former Westlife star Nicky Byrne is being lined up to present a new Lotto gameshow on RTE.
TV bosses have confirmed that Winning Streak is taking a break from January, with producers currently looking at possible presenters – and the 2FM star is top of the pile.
Bosses are also looking at Angela Scanlon, after the success of her documentaries, Brian Ormond and weather girl Nuala Carey.

“The new show will be a brand new format for the Lottery. There’s a lot of talented presenters out there so there’s lots of options,” a source told the Sun.
“Someone fresh like Nicky would be perfect as he’s very popular with the public.”
Already Nicky has also been linked to presenting a new Eurovision show, similar to The Hit, to help pick the Irish representative this year.
Break: But Sinead and Marty will be back next year | RTE
It comes after the Lotto summer show – The Big Money Game Show – was canned earlier this year.
Yesterday, RTE confirmed the new show was in the works, giving Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy a break.
A spokeswoman said: “Winning Streak is taking a break. RTE and the National Lottery will have an exciting new gameshow in January and we look forward to Marty and Sinead returning later in 2015.”
