Emilia Clarke has officially wrapped filming Game of Thrones, bidding farewell to her beloved character Daenerys Targaryen.

In an emotional post, the actress admitted that she would “never stop missing” her Game of Thrones family, after appearing on the show for almost a decade.

Posting a picture of herself lying on a bed of flowers, the 31-year-old wrote, “Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade.”

“It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing.”

Although production on the final season of Game of Thrones is complete, fans have to wait until 2019 before it hits our screens on HBO.

On filming the final season and realising the fate of her character Daenerys, Emilia told Vanity Fair, “It f***ed me up. Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavour in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is…”

“I’m doing all this weird s**t. You’ll know what I mean when you see it,” she added.

The actress has also revealed that she will get a dragon tattoo on her wrist to mark the end of Game of Thrones, as a nod to her character the Mother of Dragons.
