Elaine Crowley: ‘I was so worried about Operation Transformation – I gained two stone!’

Elaine Crowley has admitted that she was so worried about joining Celebrity Operation Transformation – that she gained almost two stone.

While the Midday host is delighted to be competing in the popular weight-loss series alongside Gerald Kean, Katherine Lynch, Karl Spain, and Brenda Donohue – signing up for the show caused her to stress eat.

“I got the phone call to come on and I was thinking, ‘What? I’m not doing this’ and then I worried so much about the decision that I ate myself almost two stone heavier,” she told the Herald.

Speaking about being approached by show producers, the TV3 star admitted that she was more amused than offended after being selected for the show’s celebrity line-up.

“I was like, ‘Oh I thought I was grand, but I must not be’.”

“I was more amused than offended [when I was asked]. I haven’t watched the show before because I don’t watch these types of shows.

“But I’ve been told it’s not like The Biggest Loser, where you have fat people lined up on the scales in a thong or something awful like that.

“The message of getting out and about is important, because like it or not, as a nation we’re getting fatter and fatter,” she said.

Challenge: Elaine is struggling with the amount of cooking she has to do | VIPIRELAND.COM

The 39-year-old said the biggest challenge she’s faced with Operation Transformation is the amount of cooking she has to do.

“I practised a couple of the meals last month and I can’t cook – I’ve really no idea at all. I gave myself food poisoning from prawns.

“I’m exhausted from all the cooking and I don’t have a dishwasher either. My friend teases me saying I use the oven to store my shoes,” she added.
