Dylan McGrath hits back at claims MasterChef is set to be axed by RTE

Dylan McGrath has hit back at claims Masterchef is about to be axed, insisting: the show is going on.

The Rustic Stone chef said that RTE are “still making the show” and hopes to be back for another season with Nick Munier.

“You don’t know how long these things will last but I see they’re still making the show,” he said.

“So as long as it stays fresh I’m quite happy to do it. If they asked me I would.”

However Dylan admitted that he hates the fame that comes with presenting the TV show.

“It’s something we do as part of business and it’s important people know, as someone who runs a restaurant, what sort of standard you expect from your own team,” he told the Herald.

“I’d shy away from fame sometimes, but I do realise it’s part of business – and important. It’s not really my thing though to be honest.”

And Dylan – whose pals are Liam Cunningham and Michael Fassbender – vowed he won’t be following them into acting any time soon despite them often joking about it happening.

He added: “They’re the actors, I’m just a cook and I think I’ll be sticking to that.”
