Dancing With The Stars pro lands role in Fair City

The news comes after DWTS was recently axed by RTÉ

Karen Byrne has landed a role in Fair City.

The professional dancer is set to star in upcoming episodes of the soap, after RTÉ recently confirmed Dancing With The Stars won’t return next year, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the RTÉ Guide, Karen will play the love interest of Ryan Andrews’ character Seán.

Karen and Ryan are already well acquainted, as Ryan starred in the 2019 series of DWTS earlier this year.

Executive producer Brigie De Courcy said: “We’re actually bringing together Karen Byrne, who was in Dancing With The Stars, and Ryan, to do some remote dancing on the streets which is going to be very lovely.”

Fair City, which has been off air since April, is set to return to screens on Sunday, September 6, with three episodes a week.

Reacting to the show’s return on Instagram earlier this week, Ryan had teased fans that he would be dancing in upcoming episodes.

He said:”I thought the dancing shoes would have stayed off for a while but they might make a sneaky little appearance on the streets of Carrigstown.”

On the latest episode of Goss Chats, Goss.ie Founder & CEO Ali Ryan sits down with beauty guru Mark Rogers.

From his upcoming wedding to surrogacy plans, Mark opens up about a hectic few months ahead.

#GossChats is sponsored by top Irish aesthetic clinic Haus of JeJuve.
