Finally!

Dancing On Ice is set to make TV history by pairing up the first same-sex couple on the show.

According to The Sun, professional skater Matt Evers and Steps star Ian “H” Watkins will partner up on the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice – which is set to air in January.

For years, fans have called on shows like Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing With The Stars to introduce same-sex couples – and now Dancing On Ice has beat them to the punch.

A show source said: “After conversations with the Dancing on Ice production team, H enquired as to the possibility of being paired with a male pro skater.”

“Bosses at Dancing on Ice are fully supportive of a same-sex partnership, so this year H will be paired with Matt.”

“It’s a huge moment in TV history. A lot of viewers will be watching and the hope is it might set a trend.”

The ITV series will return to our screens in January with a new judging panel, after Jason Gardiner quit the show.

It’s believed John Barrowman will replace him on the panel, joining Ashley Banjo and skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
