Dancing On Ice pro-skater QUITS the show after obtaining an injury

Hamish Gaman has quit Dancing On Ice after obtaining an injury.

The professional ice-skater, who has been paired with Coronation Street star Faye Brookes, snapped a tendon in his hand before Sunday night’s show.

On Tuesday, Hamish revealed he would not be needing surgery and shared his excitement about returning to the ice next weekend.

However, Dancing On Ice have since confirmed that Hamish will not be returning to the competition.

Sharing the news on Instagram, the ITV show wrote: “Sadly we can confirm that @hamishgaman, who has been partnered with @faye_brookes, has had to withdraw from the competition.”

“We thank him for all his hard work and wish him the very best as he takes some time out to allow his injury to fully heal ❤️”.

Matt Evers, who was originally paired with Denise Van Outen, will replace Hamish to skate with Faye for the rest of the competition.

Following the news, Faye wrote on Instagram: “Truly heartbroken with the news that @hamishgaman has had to withdraw from @dancingonice.”

The news comes after Dancing On Ice was postponed, meaning there will be no live show on Sunday, February 21.

The show has been plagued with injuries in recent weeks, with many celebrities being forced to quit the series.

Joe-Warren Plant and Rufus Hound were both forced to leave the popular ice-skating series early after contracting Covid-19, while Denise Van Outen and Billie Faiers both quit the show after sustaining injuries.
