Comedian Oliver Callan has been made one of RTE’s biggest stars after bagging his own TV series.
The Nob Nation satirist has been given a six-part run of Callan’s Kicks in the RTE One’s summer schedule, after success on RTE Radio 1 and his New Years once off.
Now Oliver looks to be taking on the role of Mario Rosenstock for RTE, who recently admitted he was considering moving to TV3.
A spokeswoman said: “The six-part weekly sketch show will chart the events of the moment, sending up Ireland’s world of celebrity, media culture, sports stars and politicians.”
New job: Aidan won’t be teamed with Nicky Byrne for new family programme
Meanwhile Aidan Power has been given a new show after his time on The Hit with Westlife’s Nicky Byrne.
He will present Shakedown the Town, a brand new treasure hunt show where families compete for a fantastic family holiday.
Each week two teams will compete against each other to crack the clues and be the first to unlock the safe.
And RTE also confirmed that Saturday Night with Miriam will be returning for eight weeks.
