Caroline Flack breaks her silence after stepping down from Love Island

Caroline Flack has released a statement after it was announced that she was stepping down from her role as presenter of hit reality series Love Island.

Caroline is stepping down from the role after being arrested for causing actual bodily harm following a domestic incident at her home last week which allegedly involved her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

Caroline posted to her social media: “Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it’s the best show on telly.”

“In order to not detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for Series 6.”

“I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town.”

It was widely speculated since her arrest that she would step down from the role, with filming for the Winter edition of the series having already begun.

A source told The Sun: “She is determined to clear her name. But Love Island has been her world so it’s, of course, an absolute blow.”

Caroline will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December.

Taking to her Instagram, Caroline continued: “There have been a significant number of media reports and allegations in regards to my personal life.”

“While matters were not as have been reported, I am committed to co-operating with the appropriate authorities and I can’t comment further on these matters until the legal process is over.”

“On a really personal level, I have never experienced such kindness and love in my whole life.”

“Not just from friends and family who are always the greatest… but also from total strangers who send messages to me offering help and understanding.”

“Please know that I see them… and my boyfriend Lewis… I love you,” she wrote.

There is no word yet as to who will be replacing Caroline on the huge TV series.
