Bressie insists: 'The Voice doesn't deserve to be cancelled'

Bressie believes The Voice Of Ireland shouldn’t be given the axe by RTE.

The station has still not decided whether or not they will renew the singing competition for another series after it was revealed the series could be cancelled.

However, the TV judge has insisted the Voice deserves to stay on the air for at least another year or two.

“I do think the show could go on for another year, maybe two. Why not? I mean, it’s got very consistent ratings,” he said.

Not done yet: Bressie thinks the series still has legs

“I suppose if the format isn’t working for RTE and they have a better family show in the pipeline, then I’d rather the Voice Of Ireland go out with a bang.”

Meanwhile, Bressie also revealed he wont be giving Kian any stick for not putting through Lucy O’Byrne – who went on to become the runner-up on The Voice UK.

“Usually when people don’t get through, they give up or never bother again, but Lucy battled on and is now on her way to become a big starin opera.

“She’s done really well,” he told The Star.
