TV star Baz Ashmawy is set to make up to €5 million – after selling 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy worldwide.

The ex-RTE presenter made the daredevil series, along with his mum Nancy, for Sky One.

Now it has been sold to more than 100 countries, including to America’s Discovery Channel, by Sky’s international distributor.

He said: “I’m so happy it has sold well because we’re all very proud of it. I think 2014 for me was a long-time coming, but it was brilliant and a really productive year.”

And because it was co-produced by Baz’s production company, he will be swimming in cash – and admits it was a “longtime coming”.

“I’ve been around the block before and I’m enjoying what I’m doing with Sky – I love the way they make telly and they’ve been very receptive and creatively supportive,” he told the Mail.

“The key is not to be saturated and keep focused on what you want to make. It’s easy to say that, until you need money and think, ‘Alright I’ll do this’.

“And next thing you know you are working on a daytime show talking to someone about potted plants. Sometimes you have to go to the UK to get someone to listen to you.”
