Angela Scanlan’s Robot Wars has been renewed for a second season.
The classic show was one of the most popular shows of the late 90s but was taken off BBC in 2003 after ratings plummeted.
However, the show was brought back to life this year with the Meath native and comedian Dara O’Briain fronting it.

BBC Controller of Entertainment Commissioning Kate Phillips admitted that the show’s viewers helped the with Robot War’s success.
“The return of Robot Wars with Dara and Angela at the helm has proven that BBC Two viewers, like our robot creators, haven’t lost their passion for creative wizardry and mechanical warfare,” she said in a press release.
“With even more formidable House Robots and very determined teams we can’t wait for the battles to begin.”
