The best looks from the 2019 Met Gala

The Met Gala is back!

The annual event was cancelled last year due the coronavirus pandemic, but it will return on Monday live from New York City.

To celebrate its’ return, we have rounded up our favourite looks from the 2019 event, where the theme was ‘Camp: Notes on Fashion’ – based on Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay ‘Notes on ‘Camp.’

Take a look:

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga rocked not one, not two, but FOUR different outfits on the Met Gala pink carpet.

The singer pulled out all the stops in four different designs from Brandon Maxwell – the same person who created THAT meat dress, which she donned at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

The songstress was co-chair of the Met Gala in 2019, alongside Harry Styles and Serena Williams.

Saoirse Ronan

Irish actress Saoirse Ronan looked seriously fierce in a red sequined Gucci gown, which featured extravagant gold dragon embellishments.

We are obsessed with this look!

Kacey Musgraves

Kacey Musgraves was a vision in pink at the 2019 Met Gala.

The country singer pulled up to the event in a pink convertible – wearing an absolutely fabulous Moschino Barbie get up.

Celine Dion

Celine Dion looked sensational in a shimmering fringe costume, complete with an elaborate head dress.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner

Kendall and Kylie Jenner seriously wowed at the 2019 Met Gala, as they walked the pink carpet together in custom Donatella Versace dresses.

Cardi B

Cardi B wore a larger-than-life custom burgundy gown by Thom Browne to the 2019 Met Gala.

The rapper’s look was so extra – and we loved it!

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian looked incredible in a dress created by Manfred Thierry Mugler.

The figure-hugging gown was Mugler’s first design in 20 years, and was adorned with crystal droplets.

Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell looked absolutely incredible in this pink Pier Paolo Piccioli for Valentino Haute Couture dress, which featured a full and fabulous feathered cape.

The supermodel perfectly paired the look with lace tights and pink heels.

Zendaya

Zendaya never fails to impress at the Met, and in 2019 she literally lit up the pink carpet.

The actress turned heads in a Cinderella-inspired black and blue corseted Tommy Hilfiger ballgown, which transformed into a glowing dream when her stylist Law Roach waved his magic wand.

The dress was made by the Hilfiger team in collaboration with Hussein Chalayan.
