Roz Purcell causes Newbridge jewellery sales to EXPLODE – after 'too sexy' ad banned

Model Roz Purcell may be too sexy for the internet – but she’s actually increased sales for Newbridge Silverware.

The former Miss Universe Ireland was blasted by the Advertising Standards Authority for being too risque in a online promo for the company’s jewellery range.

But it has emerged that since the advert for the eShe range was banned – people have flocked to buy the pieces featured in the supposedly X-rated clip.

And the Kildare company even saw their website crash due to an influx of punters looking to get their hands on the gear that Roz was wearing, the Herald revealed.

A Newbridge spokeswoman said: “It’s fantastic. We’ve had to re-order stock several times, and this week in particular we had a real increase in sales and traffic to our site.

“It initially went on sale in April and it has done extremely well for the company. It was a new venture for us in that we were going for the younger demographic.

“It was all about being fashion-forward and bringing out these big neck pieces for a younger audience.”

Only one complaint saw the 24-year-old’s advert – which was filmed by photographer-to-the-stars Barry McCall – banned in its current form for life.

However it has since seen Roz doing slots for Xpose pushing the wares – with the model admitting she was shocked it was banned.

She said: “I was surprised, as anyone who has seen it, including my family, loved it and they would always be very critical, especially if they found something too provocative.

“I still love the ad and shoot and I think the majority of people do too.”
