The 'Amy Huberman effect' causes her shoe firm's profits to rise 29-FOLD

Amy Huberman has proved she can sell anything – with her shoe range causing the firm behind its profits to rise 29-fold.

New accounts for Budda Brand, the firm behind the Amy Huberman shoe collections, show its profits last year rose by €465,036 to €850,468.

They are the newest company to see the ‘Amy effect’ in action – and it only includes 10 months of her first Bourbon collection going on sale, which launched in April 2013.

Before BOD’s wife got involved with the company, their profits increase in 2013 was a meagre €15,745.

Previously Amy, 35, revealed she was fully involved in every element of the collection, but did find it tough.

She said: “I was saying ‘maybe we should do this or how about that?’ and they were like ‘no Amy’ so it was a learning curve.”

She added: “I am hugely interested in fashion and shoes but I’m not a girl who has a million pairs.

“Working on the collection has been really fun. The guys really know their stuff. I’m not literally in the cobbler’s studio hammering shoes.”

Now Amy’s range has over 40 different styles, ranging in price from €79.99 to €169.99.

She has been working with Monaghan brothers Jim and Barry McArdle, who are also behind Tommy Bowe’s Lloyd & Pryce men’s footwear range.
